This trek gifts you with great variety of Bhutanese landscapes and is without doubt one of the most beautiful and unspoiled trekking areas in the entire Himalayas. The trek begins at Drugyal Dzong passing through beautiful villages, scattered hamlets and farmland. Different vegetation from richly forested valley to high alpine pastureland where Yak herders graze their animals. Trout fishing in the sky blue lake with magnificent view of three majestic peaks is some activities which can be done on a rest day. You will also encounter rare species like the blue sheep & snow leopard.

DAY 1 Arrive Kathmandu
DAY 2-3   Tour Kathmandu. (Pashupatinath, Boudhanath, Kathmandu Durbar Square, Swayambhunath & Patan)
DAY 4   Fly to Paro
DAY 5   Day hike to Taktsang monastery
DAY 6   Drive to Drugyel Dzong and trek to Shana 
DAY 7-9

 

Trek to Soi Thangthangkha following the Paro Chu river and to Jangothang

with a layover day to explore

DAY 10-11   Trek to Lingshi crossing the Nyele La pass (4, 890m) then to Shodu crossing Yale La pass (4, 820m)
DAY 12   Trek to Barshong following the Thimpu Chu river
DAY 13   Hike to Dodina and drive to Thimphu
DAY 14   Morning tour Thimpu (Memorial chorten, Changangkha monastery, Motithang mini zoo and Drupthob nunnery) Afternoon drive to Wangdi Phodrang crossing the Dochhu La pass (3,116m).
DAY 15   Day excursion to the Gangtey Gompa valley
DAY 16   Morning drive to Punakha and visit the Punakha Dzong. Drive to Thimphu for lunch then to Paro via the Simtokha Dzong.
DAY 17   Fly to Kathmandu
DAY 18   Free day in Kathmandu (optional Everest flight - extra)
DAY 19   Depart Kathmandu

GRADE C (Moderate to Strenuous): This trek is for the more serious hill walker. It involves walking at medium to high elevation so a higher level of physical fitness and stamina is required.
